Loan Officer

About this role

• Job Summary Evaluate, authorize or recommend approval of loans specific to your expertise (i.e.: commercial, real estate, agricultural, consumer, credit).
• Advise borrowers on financial status and methods of payments.
• Develops credit relations with customers and promotes other banking services.
• Accountabilities * Evaluates loan applications and documentation by confirming credit worthiness * Analyze applicants' financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans * Improves loan applications and documentation by informing applicant of additional requirements * Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services * Approves loans within specified limits and refer loan applications outside those limits to loan committee for approval * Completes loan contracts by explaining provisions to applicant; obtaining signatures and notarizations; collecting fees * Review and update credit and loan files * Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy * Compute payment schedules * Stay informed of new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet customers' needs * Helps customers by answering questions and responding to requests * Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans * Maintains customer confidence by keeping loan information confidential * Meet with customers at off-site locations Expectations * Superior understanding of lending processes * Continuing focus on providing a superior customer experience * Fiserv Premier experience preferred * Performs job accountabilities with a high level of accuracy and timeliness * Develops and maintains knowledge of compliance and internal control requirements necessary to complete the job * Uphold the employment guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook * Performs duties in compliance with policy, procedure and process \*\*Salary is based on experience\*\*
