Registered Medical Assistant/Front Desk

About this role

• Duties and Responsibilities * Obtain and record patient medical history and vital signs, chart preparation, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with medical examinations.
• * Preparing patient rooms for clinical examinations and assisting physician with medical procedures and other patient care.
• * Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• * Maintain accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies.
• * Maintains stocks of medicines and medical supplies as necessary.
• * Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
• * Completes physician orders and facilitates specialists care, which may result in phoning patient prescriptions.
• * Provides instructions and directions to patients regarding diagnostic tests, procedures and treatments.
• * Performs data entry of lab studies and procedure tests in compliance with physician directives.
• * Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred * Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
• * Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures.
• * Knowledge of outpatient clinical administrative procedures.
• * Ability to educate patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment.
