About this role

• **About us** Melapop Aesthetics & Wellness is opening a private pay, concierge integrated health practice for women in Houston in 2027.
• Our care is safe, affirming, and built around the whole woman, with longer appointments, a limited client load, and direct access to her care team.
• We're especially committed to women of color, who are too often underserved and unheard in healthcare.
• **The role** We're looking for a physician to serve as our Medical Director and lead the clinical side of the practice.
• This role starts before we open, so you can help set up our clinical foundation and have everything in place for day one.
• Once we open, you'll set our clinical standards and guide our nurse practitioners.
• Our team handles all business operations, so your time goes to clinical leadership.
• **Before opening** * Form and own the practice's clinical entity, with full management support from our team * Open the clinical accounts the practice needs, including lab accounts, and malpractice coverage * Review, approve, and sign clinical protocols and standing delegation orders * Sign prescriptive authority agreements with each NP and register them with the Texas Medical Board * Review our clinical setup and safety procedures before launch **After opening** * Review charts on a set schedule and meet at least monthly with each NP * Be available for clinical questions during business hours * Make scheduled site visits and be available in person for complications * Consult on complex cases * Update protocols as we add services or providers * Help vet new clinical hires and services before they launch * Guide quality, safety, and compliance across the practice **Qualifications** * Active, unrestricted Texas medical license with no board discipline * Board certified in OB/GYN or family medicine preferred * Active DEA registration * Capacity to take on new prescriptive authority agreements under the Texas limit * Malpractice coverage that includes medical director services * Experience caring for women of color and understanding of health disparities * Familiarity with skin of color concerns is a plus * Experience with hormones, menopause, PCOS, fertility, or aesthetic medicine is a plus * Houston area preferred **Schedule** Primarily remote, with scheduled site visits in Houston.
• Chart review, NP meetings, and site visits will be set in your agreement.
